Wind Mitigation Methodologies (CILB# 0614298) - satisfies 1 hour wind mitigation (1 credit hours)
While stricter building codes in the Florida Building Code have made a real difference in structures being better able to withstand hurricane winds, those built prior to the enactment of the Florida Building Code were of particular concern to Florida lawmakers, so the Legislature enacted Florida Statute 553.844 to better deal with the threat to these older structures.  This course will provide information and training on residential wind mitigation.

Upon completion of the course the student should have an understanding of Florida Statutes Chapter 553.844’s requirements for wind mitigation.  
 
Upon completion of the course the student should have basic knowledge as to the correct methods to perform bracing/roof retrofits and installation.
