Fall Protection (CILB# 0613066, ECLB# 0802147) - satisfies 1 hour workplace safety (1 credit hours)
Historically, falls are the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry, accounting for about one-third of all accidental deaths. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recognizes that incidents involving falls are generally complex events, frequently involving a variety of factors. Consequently, the standards for fall protection deal with both the human and equipment-related issues in protecting workers from fall hazards. By providing excerpts and comments on frequently cited OSHA fall-prevention standards, this course is intended to help workers and employers better understand the standards.
